Hi there, Kiley, and thanks for bringing your questions to
planDisney!
Your September getaway to the
Happiest Place on Earth is going to be here before you know it, so I’m glad you’re starting to plan ahead! As a mom of three Mouseketeers, I can relate to having to haul around coolers, water bottles, sweatshirts, snacks, and other items for the family. My youngest is 6 years old, so we still bring a stroller into the theme parks with us, but I can see how this could be an issue for you with children who have outgrown strollers. I checked the
Disneyland Resort Rules, and I don’t see anything about
using a stroller without a child in it. However, the Rules do mention no unattended bags, so I’d be wary of bringing a stroller to hold your cooler and any items without a child in it.
My best recommendation is to instead
rent a locker for the day. You can find locker rentals on The Esplanade between both theme parks, and just inside both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. You can share the passcode you select with your family so they can access it throughout the day, even if they’re not with you. The largest lockers can be found on The Esplanade, so this may be your best spot to hold all of your family’s must-have items securely. You can find these lockers to the left of the Disneyland Park Main Entrance.
As for your preteen’s keychain stool, that’s another great question! I checked the Disneyland Resort Rules again, and they state that folding chairs are not allowed in either of the theme parks or in Downtown Disney District. So, even though your portable folding stool is small, I don’t believe it would be allowed. You can always double check with a Cast Member at the security checkpoint before entering the Disneyland Resort, in case they have additional information they can pass along.
I can definitely understand the desire to sit down and rest those weary feet though, Kiley! My family and I have a few favorite activities we head to when it’s time to take a rest, starting with a ride on the Disneyland Railroad. This is the perfect opportunity to rest your feet while taking in the sights and sounds of Disneyland Park. In Disney California Adventure Park, we enjoy visiting The Disney Animation Building, which features the Animation Courtyard gallery in the main lobby. This air-conditioned area offers plenty of couches to sit on. Once inside, take your art skills to the next level at Animation Academy, which is a great way to sit and rest while still being entertained.
I hope this information helps, Kiley! Please stop back with any additional questions you may have… we’re all EARs!
Wishing you a magical, comfortable visit!
