Greetings, Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney. A cruise aboard the
Disney Destiny, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, is an exciting adventure, and I’m happy to help you prepare. Let’s make sure you have everything you need for smooth sailing!
Elizabeth, Disney Destiny staterooms have USB and USB-C ports, as well as standard wall plugs. This is how I kept both my phone and DisneyBand+ powered up while sailing on the
Disney Wish.
With your devices powered up, you'll be able to take advantage of the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. You can use the onboard chat feature to stay connected with family and friends, learn where Disney Characters are throughout the ship, get rotational dining details, see schedule information for various activities, and more.
The
DisneyBand+ is a waterproof wristband that adds a level of convenience to a Disney cruise. That's because you can tie the band to your account and use it to access your stateroom, link photos, pay for merchandise, and unlock interactive surprises. I highly recommend having one – just remember to bring the charger that comes with it!
Now, it's important to note that there are some restrictions when it comes to electronics. Extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs, and surge protectors are prohibited from being brought on board Disney Cruise ships. Just so you know, if a prohibited item is found in your baggage during the security screening process, it will be confiscated. You can view a
complete list of prohibited and restricted items on the Disney Cruise Line website, and keep it in mind as you create your packing list.
During your cruise, you'll find that
your stateroom has more than just a means to charge your devices – it also offers all the comfortable amenities to "recharge" you as well! A premium plush mattress, sitting area, flat-screen TV, signature bath and shower products, cozy bedding, and more will be waiting for you each time you return from fun elsewhere on the ship. I loved relaxing in the room – I'd read a book, order
room service, watch the ocean from the large porthole window (I was in an Oceanview Stateroom), and get a little rest to have energy for activities later that night.
Elizabeth, I hope this information is helpful as you continue to build your packing list. If you think of any other questions, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Wishing you smooth sailing,
Kriss
