Hi, there!
Shirley, I'm so excited to hear you're planning a Disney vacation. A visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is always magical, but exceptionally so with a
little one in tow! You're sure to make lots of happy memories together.
As a mom of a preschooler, a stroller is an absolute must-do for my family's Disney vacations. Exploring the theme parks requires a lot of walking, and my 4-year old's little legs tire quickly!
Strollers are available to rent from all four theme parks and Disney Springs. These strollers do feature shades, but they're made of hard-sided plastic and do not recline in the least. My little princess often needs a midday snooze, so I completely understand your concern. You have a few alternatives! One is to bring your own stroller from home.
Guests are welcome to bring their own strollers as long as they're no larger than 31" in width and 52" in length. My family always brings our own stroller from home - I've found it to be especially helpful to have on hand through the airports as we're traveling to and from Orlando! Another option is to rent a stroller from ScooterBug, Disney's featured rental provider. This Central Florida rental company will deliver a stroller right to your Disney Resort hotel. How convenient is that? ScooterBug offers several types of strollers, but I recommend the City Mini Single. It's the perfect stroller for pixie-dusted adventures! This is the stroller that we take along on our Disney vacations and it's served us well each and every time. I love the City Mini Single because it features extra-large shades and a seat that reclines completely flat, giving my little princess a comfortable place to take a nap. The City Mini Single also folds quickly and easily, making it a breeze to take on Disney buses.
No matter which stroller you decide to use for your upcoming Disney vacation, be sure to take something along with you that will help you find it among a sea of others in the designated stroller parking areas. I always tie a Mickey Mouse ribbon around the handlebar of our stroller, but I've seen Guests use balloons, nameplates, and even battery-operated twinkle lights!
I hope this was helpful, Shirley. Please let me know if you have any other questions about planning your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! I'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
