What type of payments does Disney accept (2022)? Is cash still allowed? Apple Pay? Google Pay? Credit Cards?

    Hiya Gabriel,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so excited that you are here, and I get to help you answer your questions about your upcoming trip. With less than a week away, you must be getting excited! I’m just finishing up a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and I can tell you that the magic is alive at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Did you hEAR that the Festival of Fantasy Parade has returned to Magic Kingdom? It is spectacular, so definitely add it to your vacation itinerary.

As I mentioned, I was just in the Theme Parks this week and can confirm that Walt Disney World Resort does accept cash, Disney Gift Cards, mobile payments such as Apple and Google Pay through MagicMobile, and credit/debit cards. Walt Disney World Resort encourages guests to utilize low-contact for purchases, but if you prefer cash, you can use it. In fact, I noticed multiple Guests paying with cash during my most recent vacation.

During my trip, I exclusively used Disney Gift Cards, however. It was excellent from a budgeting perspective, and it gave me peace of mind that if I misplaced my Disney Gift Card, I could get it replaced (as long as it is registered). I’ve seen too many mishaps where someone has had cash fall out of their pocket or left their debit card on a dining tray and accidentally tossed it. So I always prefer to air on the side of caution.

I know you are going to have the most magical trip! If there is anything we can help you with, please reach out.

    Happy Planning!
