Hi there, Michael--welcome to planDisney! It's always great to meet a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member and I'm pleased as can be to help with your question today.
Getting a good night's sleep is crucial for any vacation at
Walt Disney World Resort, so I certainly understand wanting some more details to ensure that your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth is restful and relaxing! Our family has really liked the change from sofa beds to Murphy beds at the DVC resorts--my kids are usually the ones sleeping on them and report that they're quite comfortable.
Michael, I spoke with several Cast Members and learned that the mattresses in all of the DVC properties are custom Sealy Sayer, made exclusively for Walt Disney World. The information available did not specify whether the mattresses are foam, innerspring, or a hybrid containing both. Generally, the folks I talked to felt fairly certain that because they have a pillow top, it's likely that they do contain foam.
If you choose to stay at one of the resorts you mentioned (I'm partial to
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, our Home Resort!), you can add a note to your reservation and request a rubber sheet that would cover the mattress and hopefully make it possible to use the Murphy bed without exacerbating your allergy. I'm confident that you'll be able to get your rest on your December vacation so you can be up in the mornings for
Early Theme Park Entry and power through until nighttime fireworks!
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Michael! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please don't hesitate to reach out again if we can help with any other questions that pop up--we're always happy to be of service.
Stay Magical!
Susan
