Hi, Debra! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
As the mom of a child with special needs, I'm always so appreciative of the way that
Walt Disney World Resort goes above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone. When I visit the Walt Disney World theme parks with my son who is on the autism spectrum, we use Disability Access Service (DAS).
DAS is intended for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a traditional queue environment. Guests wishing to use DAS can stop by
Guest Relations when they arrive at one of the theme parks to speak with a Cast Member about registering for DAS. Guests who qualify for this accommodation are able to use their
My Disney Experience mobile app to request a return time for an
attraction they wish to experience. The return time will be based on that attraction's current standby wait time. Any time after the given return time, the Guest and their party may return and access the attraction without having to physically wait in the standby queue. Once one ride return time is redeemed, the Guest may request another DAS return time.
If you feel that your diabetes diagnosis would make it difficult for you to physically wait in a standby line, you may qualify for DAS. If you'd like to discuss your own specific situation and needs with a Disability Services Cast Member, they should be able to give you more personalized information on what accommodations you might qualify for. If you'd like to reach out to Disability Services, you can find a phone number on this
Guests with Disabilities webpage.
Debra, I hope that everything works out for you and that you're able to plan a Walt Disney World Resort visit. If you do decide to book a trip, please feel free to
visit planDisney again with any additional questions you might have. My fellow panelists and I would love to help you have the most magical vacation ever!
See ya real soon!
