I have type 2 diabetes and will be 28 weeks pregnant.. On a very strict carb counting diet and take insulin. Can I take my medications into the parks with me, and is there a diabetic friendly menu available. Having trouble finding anything on the WDW site.

    Hi Heather,

Disney Dining is exceptional at helping guests not only with food allergies, but with medical issues and food choices based on religious affiliation.  You can email Disney's food experts at specialdiets@disneyworld.com.  Let them know your concerns in detail and they will help you by giving you more information and solutions.  I would do this at least two weeks ahead of your trip.

As for your medication; I don't foresee a problem.  I've taken medication into the parks and have never had an issue.  My sister is diabetic and has taken her insulin into the parks also.  If you have anything sharp please let the security guard who is checking your bag at the entrance know ahead of time.  Please know that if you need to refrigerate your medication the first-aid stations at the parks will do this for you.

I hope this helps.  I wish you a wonderful time on your vacation and congratulations on the baby!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
