What type coffee maker is in Port Orleans French Quarter rooms? I'd like to bring hot chocolate for the grandchildren.

    Hi Doris,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It’s so nice to hear from you again, and I’m really excited that your vacation is only a few sleeps away!

I just adore your idea to make hot chocolate for your grandchildren. What a special treat! I used to love drinking hot chocolate with my mom when I was a little girl, and I always felt so grown up sitting with my mom, mugs in hand, talking and laughing.

The rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter currently feature small Cuisinart coffee makers. These machines are a style I’ve only ever seen at Walt Disney World – you are provided with a filter that is filled with coffee that you place in the machine, and then water drips through it to make coffee. It’s kind of like a coffee-filled pillow, which is quite honestly the stuff of my dreams. If you’d like to make hot chocolate, you would just need to run water through the machine to heat it up, and then add a hot chocolate packet to the water. It would be fun to bring a package of marshmallows too!

If your family will be on the Disney Dining Plan, your grandchildren will be able to fill their Resort Refillable Mugs with cocoa from your resort’s food court. That’s a treat my children love! Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a fantastic Quick-Service location, and I think an afternoon treat of a cup of cocoa with their signature beignets sounds absolutely dreamy.

Have the most merry and magical holiday with your family, Doris!
