Two-adults & children 9 & 12) coming to DW for the first time in April. Purchased four-day park passes w/o park hopper. Our first and last days are travel days. Which parks should we visit on the travel days? Which should we visit on the full days?

    Hi Mike --

The first trip to Walt Disney World is always so exciting!  You and your family will have a great time.

As far as where to spend your 2 full days, this is a tricky question for me given the age of your children.  Call me traditional, but my two favorite parks are Magic Kingdom and Epcot.  These are the two parks I would choose if I only had two full days in the parks.  Epcot is so huge, you really need a full day to enjoy it, and Magic Kingdom has so many traditional favorites.

I would spend my first travel day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Save Animal Kingdom for your last day.  Animal Kingdom usually closes earlier than the other parks, and the animals are more active early in the day, so you want to get there early.  Also, my guess is that your children will really enjoy Hollywood Studios because of Rockin' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Midway Mania.  As a family, you may decide that you want to return on your last day instead of seeing all 4 parks and save Animal Kingdom for your next visit.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
