Can two 8 year old children over 50” (over the height requirement) ride together on incredicoaster, while i, the parent, ride behind them?

Hiya, Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney! With your trip coming up in less than two weeks, the countdown is officially on, and it sounds like your family is getting ready for some unforgettable thrills. If big, laugh-out-loud moments are on your must-do list, Incredicoaster is absolutely one of the most exciting rides at the Disneyland Resort. I’m happy to help walk you through how seating works so you can head into the queue feeling confident and ready for the fun ahead.

You’ll be happy to know that yes, your two 8-year-olds who meet the height requirement for the attraction can absolutely ride together with you riding in the seat behind them. According to the Disneyland Resort park rules, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to board an attraction. Since your kids are 8, they’re welcome to sit together while you follow right behind. When you reach the loading area, just be sure to let the Cast Member know that the three of you would like to ride together, and they’ll help make sure you’re seated accordingly as you launch into that high-speed adventure through Pixar Pier.

Another fun bonus is that you should still be able to appear in the same attraction photo with your children thanks to the Disney PhotoPass service. Incredicoaster photos typically capture up to four Guests per train, so there’s a great chance you’ll all be in the shot together. After the ride, you’ll see a PhotoPass ID number displayed on the screen with your photo near the attraction exit—be sure to jot it down or snap a quick photo of it with your phone. To view your picture, open the Disneyland mobile app, tap the menu button, and select “Link Photos,” then enter that PhotoPass ID number. The great news is that if you decide to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, it includes unlimited PhotoPass digital downloads, which means that thrilling family moment will be ready to view, download, and share straight from the app.

And Stephanie, to make the most of your day with adventurous 8-year-olds, you might also want to mix big thrills with lighter, story-driven attractions nearby. Pixar Pier is a great area to do this, with Toy Story Midway Mania! offering a fun, competitive break between thrill rides. Taking advantage of Lightning Lane selections for popular attractions earlier in the day can also help keep waits shorter and energy levels high. And don’t forget to build in snack or rest breaks—sometimes a treat or a chance to people-watch with your favorite Disney pals can be just as memorable as the rides themselves.

I hope this helps you feel confident as you plan your day, Stephanie. I’m wishing you and your kids an unforgettable visit to The Happiest Place on Earth filled with laughter, thrills, and those shared moments that make Disneyland so special. Have a magical day!
