Welcome to planDisney, Jennifer! Are you getting so excited about your trip to Walt Disney World Resort in just over a week? I'm actually arriving on the same day as you and I have big plans for
Walt Disney World Marathon weekend, and it sounds like you do too. One of the factors we'll all need to plan for is road closures, so let's chat about how that will affect you on the morning of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon.
Jennifer, the
Car Care Center is located in the
Magic Kingdom Park area just off Floridian Way, which will be closed that morning from 3:45 AM to 9:30 AM for the safety of the runners. You can check out the map on the
Virtual Expo page for the race so you have all the most up-to-date information. Since you are planning to pick up your car during that time frame, I recommend that you get in contact with your rental provider to see if they have any alternative options for you and how they have prepared for the road to be closed. They may have a different time for you to come pick up the car, or you can possibly arrange to go pick it up the evening before.
If you're planning to be in the Theme Parks between January 3 to 7, I have a great tip for you! Runners will come into the Theme Parks after the races to take photos with their medals and enjoy some attractions, entertainment, and food so while the Parks may be a bit busier in the morning and the afternoon, they typically get really quiet in the evenings. The runners need to get to bed early for those before sunrise starts, so you'll really be able to make the most out of your Park time when the sun goes down!
I hope this answers your question, Jennifer, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
