I have two toddlers that I will be taking to Walt Disney World in the Spring. One will need to use a stroller as a wheelchair. If I bring my double stroller (32 inches wide) to use as the wheelchair, will it fit through the queues on the rides?

    Hi Christine!

How exciting that you're bringing your Mouseketeers to meet Mickey and his pals! My son was 14-months-old his first visit and Oh Boy! It was so wonderful to watch the magic of Disney come to life through his eyes. Definitely utilize Disney's PhotoPass photographers so you can all be in the vacation photos too!

Your double stroller is actually the size of most standard wheelchairs, which do fit through most attraction queues. Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971, so some of the original opening day rides were designed before the current ADA laws. However, accommodations have been made for the attractions that don't measure up. I'm going to refer you to the Mobility Disabilities page so you can study what you'll need to do for every attraction. Most will allow your littles to remain in the stroller until it's time to board the ride vehicle. But others will require a bit more work; Pirates of the Caribbean, for example, requires that those in wheelchairs and ECVs to transfer to a slightly smaller, queue-specific wheelchair until it's time to board their pirate ship.

The good news is that there is usually a Cast Member stationed at the entrance to every queue who will help guide you as to what your family will need to do.
