Hi Christina. Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for your question!
One thing I’ve always appreciated about
Walt Disney World is that they understand life doesn’t always line up perfectly with our plans. Sometimes trips shift or unexpected things pop up, and Disney does a great job accommodating Guests when they can. When it comes to theme park tickets, if you have
unused tickets that expire before your visit, Disney allows you to apply the value of those original tickets toward the purchase of new ones that fit your updated travel dates. The keyword here is unused. If even one day of a multiday ticket has been used, this option is no longer available.
The good news is that since your tickets expire on December 15 and your visit is in early January, you should be able to put the value of those tickets toward new ones. You can start by logging into your
My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World website. Hover over My Disney Experience, select My Plans, then scroll about halfway down to the My Plans, Reservations and Tickets section. Switch from Daily Itinerary to Tickets, Passes, and Memory Maker, choose the ticket you want to modify, and see if the system lets you proceed. If it doesn’t, or if something doesn’t look quite right, I suggest calling the Tickets and Hotel Reservations line through the
Help Center. A Cast Member can walk you through your options and make the change for you if needed.
I hope this helps give you a clear path forward. If you’d like help planning your January visit, from
Lightning Lane strategy to dinner recommendations or where I like to watch
Happily Ever After, send another question my way.
I’d be glad to help.
See you real soon!
Brent
