We have two teens and were assigned second seating for our July trip on Dream. Is there any disadvantage to second seating? Will we have trouble making it to fireworks, for example? Do people camp out early like in the parks?

    Hi Paula!

I'm so happy to welcome you back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! If I remember correctly, this will be your inaugural Disney Cruise in July, right? How exciting! You and your pirate crew sound like you're planning up a storm. Soon, you'll see all your planning pay off when you step onboard and experience the DREAMiest days cruising to paradise!

Before we had our miniature sailor, we always chose the second seating for dinner and loved it! In my opinion, there are actually advantages to eating in the second seating. You won't feel rushed getting ready for dinner after a day of excursions or exploring the ports of call! You'll also love seeing the Broadway-style show prior to dinner and will even have time to explore the shops or squeeze in a quick family game of Goofy Golf, on Deck 13, before feasting on amazing food!

We never had trouble making it to the fireworks show, Buccaneer Blast, on Pirate Night. Your entire serving team will do a great job keeping dinner on time so you will make it on deck for the best night on the high seas! You will see people waiting for the show, but it's nothing like Main Street, U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom Park. Also, Paula, the best viewing area for the fireworks is starboard side of the ship!

I hope I was able to ease your mind about the second seating for dinner. If you have any other questions before July, please sail on over and visit us again!
