Hi Carolyn, welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! It sounds like you plan to experience the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue that will be reopening this summer. The crazy antics of the Hoop-De-Doo performers promise a knee-slapping, toe-tapping good time. You'll feast on all-you-can-eat fried chicken and smoked barbeque pork ribs, salad, baked beans, cornbread, and Disney World-famous strawberry shortcake. My mouth is watering at the thought of this delicious food memory!
I've experienced Category 1 seating with a party of eight as well as a party of six and can assure you your party size can be accommodated and that all seats in this section put you in the center of the magic. In fact, you may even be selected to be a star of the show! I most recently experienced this show at a side table with a three-year-old in tow. This worked out perfectly because it gave us access to a side aisle for wiggle breaks without requiring us to leave the theater. Just be sure to keep an eye out for the incredible wait staff when it's serving time. This area also became our dance floor during the dinner intermission featuring live piano music. The lively music and hilarious slapstick comedy kept my little ones entertained throughout the show portions of the night and they thoroughly enjoyed the menu, especially the strawberry shortcake! Without giving too much away, their favorite parts involved a napkin, a spoon, and a washboard.
When considering transportation to and from
The Campsites at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort, I recommend a
water taxi from Magic Kingdom park, especially if you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. If you're staying off property and will be driving, you can also park near the Outpost Depot at Ft. Wilderness and take the Ft. Wilderness bus to the Settlement Depot near Pioneer Hall. I recommend arriving early and exploring the surroundings. There's a playground nearby as well as the
Tri-Circle-D Ranch. You can also find unique souvenEARS at the
Settlement Trading Post. Your little ones will have so much fun running around, they'll be more than ready for dinner and a show.
Reservations for Hoop-Dee-Doo can be made online beginning May 26 with opening night scheduled for June 26. For future visits, reservations can be made 60 days in advance. Guests staying at a Disney hotel can make reservations for their entire stay, up to 10 days, at the 60-day mark.
I hope you and yours have a root tootin' good time experiencing this Walt Disney World Resort treasure. If I misunderstood your question or you have any other questions about planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please don't hesitate to

Plan magic; planDisney.
