Hi there, Jill!
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm delighted to have the opportunity to help your family experience The Most Magical Place on Earth with your four-legged family members!
I'm consistently amazed by the attentiveness and empathy of dogs, and service dogs demonstrate these characteristics on a completely different level. They are truly incredible and such important members of the family! With this in mind, I reached out to a friendly Cast Member for information on vacationing with service dogs to help make your arrival as efficient as possible. He clarified that there is no need to reach out in advance to register your service dogs, but if you would like to request a room location that would be convenient for animal relief then you could call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line to have it noted on your reservation that you will be traveling with two service dogs. You should also plan to travel with your service dogs' certification papers that verify they are documented and trained to perform a specific task for an individual with a disability.
Per Walt Disney World Resort policy, service animals are permitted to use any open outdoor area for relief as long as the owner picks up after the animal and leaves the area clean. Additionally, at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, you'll find designated Service Animal Relief Areas in the grassy areas that border the Resort hotel's parking lots. When exploring areas of Walt Disney World Resort beyond your Resort hotel, you're free to utilize
Walt Disney World Resort's complimentary transportation services alongside your furry family member. Finally, you'll conveniently find information on navigating Walt Disney World Resort with a service animal
here. This page includes information on available options for animal relief and attraction guidelines for each of the theme parks. Regardless of your location, please keep in mind that service animals must be under the control of the owner and leashed or harnessed at all times and that Cast Members are not able to take control of service animals on behalf of Guests.
I hope this information was helpful, Jill, as you prepare for a
paw-sitively magical vacation! If you find yourself in need of further planning assistance, feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
