I have two room reservations. One starts a week before the other. If we decide to only do one room (the later one) and cancel the first room reservation will it also automatically cancel my dining reservations that I made under the first room?

    Hiya Shelly!

Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! I am so glad you decided to stop by and ask us this question, and I am honoured that I get to be a part of your planning journey. Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservations are a hot commodity, and I am guessing you already know that when you see a good offer, you have to take it! I can already tell that you are a planning pro, Shelly, so let's talk about those reservations!

Since your reservations are not tied to each other, cancelling one type of reservation will not affect another. Indeed, if you decide to cancel your Resort hotel reservation for that week, you will not lose your dining reservations automatically. However, this means that there are a few extra steps you will need to take if you do not intend on using these reservations or if you would like to reschedule them. To cancel or reschedule a dining reservation, click on "My Plans" under the "My Disney Experience" tab online, and scroll down to find your reservations. Then, you will be able to click on "Change Reservation," which offers you the opportunity to either reschedule your reservation or cancel it. If you want to reschedule your reservation and find that all times are booked for the week you want to travel, I suggest waiting until you are closer to your vacation dates. Indeed, people often cancel their dining reservations on short notice, which opens up lots of availability.

Now, Shelly, I hope you have planned to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the World's Most Magical Celebration! So many offerings have debuted or returned during this celebration, and you will not want to miss them. I love stopping by Cinderella Castle to watch the brand new show Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire and wait for the different cavalcades. If you like parades, you also must grab a spot on Main Street USA to watch the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. It is one of my favourites! Lastly, on top of the gorgeous decorations and EARidescent souvenirs, the brand new nighttime spectaculars at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are sure to surprise you! For some extra magic, watch the fireworks from Magic Kingdom Park's Main Street USA. And while you're on Main Street USA, don't forget to get your Mickey hugs in at the Town Square Theater!

I hope this was helpful, Shelly, and that you and your loved ones will have the best day ever on your upcoming Disney vacation! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. We love to have you as our guest; our command is your request!

    Have a magical day,
