Hi Andria, welcome back to planDisney!
Visiting Walt Disney World Resort with the grandparents is my family's favorite way to travel. We love cruising together on
"it's a small world", creating magical food memories at
Be Our Guest Restaurant, and repeatedly exclaiming, "This was the best day ever!" under
firework-lit skies.
To make and share plans with the grandparents, Andria, everyone needs to be connected as
Family and Friends in
My Disney Experience. Start by taking a look at your
Family and Friends list. Individuals listed under the "People I Have Plans With" heading are listed as such because you currently have a shared vacation entitlement such as a dining or resort reservation. You're still able to make plans with people listed under the "People I Do Not Have Plans With" heading, that heading just means you don't have shared plans with them yet. Any individuals that have "plans managed by me" listed beside their name do not have their own My Disney Experience account and their plans are managed by you. As long as you and your husband's plans are being managed under your account and not the grandparent's account, all is well. If some shifting needs to happen, a Cast Member can help you via live chat on the
Walt Disney World website.
The fact that the grandparents see your husband's name and ticket information on their account is a great sign that you're connected as Family and Friends in My Disney Experience! In my own account, I can see some of my Family and Friends' tickets, but not all. This has to do with individual privacy settings, which can be changed by clicking "Update" next to a name on your Family and Friends list and selecting share "All My Plans or "Only Our Shared Plans." You'll also want to make sure the box to share
Disney PhotoPass photos with the grandparents is checked. In my experience, Grandpa makes the best faces going down Splash Mountain!
With everyone connected as Family and Friends in My Disney Experience, one person will be able to make
dining reservations, book
Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions, and tap in with Disney PhotoPass photographers for the group.
I hope you and your family have the best days ever on your upcoming multigenerational Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Andria. Please reach out with any follow-up
tech-stions.
Plan magic; planDisney.
