Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Judy. I'm delighted to hear you're planning a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season! I'm always a little bummed out when December 26 rolls around, so I think a Disney vacation is the perfect remedy for the post-Christmas blues.
My family and I were big fans of the
Disney Dining Plans. As a mom of three, I loved the flexibility and convenience the dining plans added to our Walt Disney World Resort vacations! You are correct that the Disney Dining Plans are still unavailable. With the exception of some free dining plan offers in the past, Guests could add a dining plan to their
Disney Resort Hotel Package for an added cost per person listed on the reservation. Because Disney Dining Plans were not an included, free amenity with Disney Resort Hotel Packages, Guests are not eligible for dining allowances while dining plans are unavailable.
One of the things I appreciated about Disney Dining Plans was knowing that my family's meals and snacks were prepaid. While we wait for dining plans to return, many Guests are purchasing Disney Gift Cards in the amount they would have spent on adding a dining plan to their Disney Resort Hotel Package. Arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort with Disney Gift Cards to spend on dining experiences kind of creates that prepaid-dining-plan feel! I like to buy
Disney Gift Cards at Target. With my Target RedCard, I can save 5% on the purchase of those gift cards! Those savings add up to a few extra Disney vacation souvenirs.
I hope this was helpful, Judy. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
