Hi two questions please...when will we be able to borrow more than 50% of next use year points and .... where do I purchase the one time points if needed? Thank you

    Hey There, Kimberly!

Welcome to planDisney.  As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, I love having the flexibility to use my Vacation Points the way that works best for my family –– whether that means banking unused Points, borrowing from my upcoming Use Year for a special stay, or even transferring some of my Points to another DVC family member or friend.  Like you, I've been waiting for an announcement regarding any changes to the current Vacation Points restrictions and I'm happy to share a few details about where things stand right now.

Currently, Members may only borrow up to 50% of their Vacation Points from the upcoming Use Year to book stays during the current Use Year. This rule went into effect in April 2020 due to availability issues during the ongoing pandemic situation.  Unfortunately, there hasn't been an announcement about when these limits might be removed, but as restrictions continue to ease, I'm hopeful that this change could be on the horizon.  Be sure to keep checking the Disney Vacation Club website for all the latest updates on this temporary policy.

Here's some good news, though –– if you've reached your borrowing limit and still need to add a few points for an upcoming stay, you have the option to purchase one-time-use Points in order to book your reservation.  Each year, Members have the ability to add up to 24 Vacation Points to their Use Year, which can be used for reservations in the 7-month booking window.  These Points can be used to book Disney Vacation Club accommodations, as well as Disney Collection and World Collection reservations, but be aware they expire at the end of your Use Year (they also cannot be banked, borrowed, or transferred).  You can purchase one-time-use Points by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800.

Before your upcoming stay in September, you'll also want to be sure to download your new Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card.  You can do this by logging in to the My Disney Experience mobile app with the Disney Account connected to your DVC Membership and creating a new Disney MagicMobile pass.  This pass will act as your new card and be saved to the mobile wallet on your smartphone, giving you access to all your Member Benefits right at your fingertips. I recently got to share the step-by-step process for how to download these cards with another Guest, which you can read here for more details.

I really appreciate you visiting us at planDisney, Kimberly.  Please don't hesitate to stop by again if you think of new planning questions –– we're always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Amy
