Hi! Two questions about paying for Lightening Lane for select rides. Can that be combined with Rider Switch? Can you make other LL reservations as part of Genie+ while waiting for your paid LL experience, or does that count as your one?

    Hello Courtney,

Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases give guests a lot of options when it comes to planning their Disney vacation days, which is fantastic! However, while you're heading "into the unknown" during the planning process, things can get a bit confusing with the two options.

Great news! Individual Lightning Lane purchases are completely separate from Disney Genie+ selections. That means if you have Genie+ you won't need to wait to use your Individual Lightning Lane reservations before making Genie+ reservations. In fact, if you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can book your first Genie+ time AND purchase up to two Individual Lightning Lanes beginning at 7 AM.

Rider Switch can absolutely be used on attractions where you want to book an Individual Lightning Lane. You'll just need to make an Individual Lightning Lane purchase for everyone who wants to ride. For instance, if you are in Disney's Animal Kingdom with a party of 5, and one person in your party doesn't meet the height requirement for Avatar Flight of Passage, no problem. You simply purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for the other 4 people in the party, and select a return time. At your scheduled time, all 5 people should head to the ride. Check in with a cast member at the entrance and let them know you want to use Rider Switch. After the first group rides the attraction, the second group will be able to go through the Lightning Lane to ride.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
