Can you still use two quarts and a penny for the pressed penny machines?

    Hey there, Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for dropping by with a delightful Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. It looks like you'll be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth today - I bet you're so excited! There's nothing better than waking up on the last day of your vacation countdown and beginning your Walt Disney World Resort adventure. As the mom of an avid pressed penny collector, I'm happy to help you out with your excellent question!

Sarah, pressed coins from the Walt Disney World Resort make spectacular souvenirs that appeal to Mouseketeers of all ages and stages. At the time of writing, most pressed penny machines require $1 for one penny or $3-5 for the entire collection offered in that location (usually 3 to 8 pennies). You no longer need to supply physical coins, as the machines will provide these for you! Acceptable payment method currently varies by machine, with some locations accepting a mix of cash or cards, whereas other machines may only accept electronic payment in the form of cards or mobile wallet payments. It's also important to note that, at this time, pressed penny machines do not accept payment via MagicBand.

I'd like to share a handy tip to assist you with your quest for pressed pennies, Sarah. You can find locations of pressed penny machines right in the My Disney Experience mobile app! Simply tap the "Search" icon in the main menu and type "Coin Press" in the search bar. Select "Coin Press Machines" from the list of available search results, then "Find on Map." The pressed penny machines located on Walt Disney World Resort property will be displayed on the map, and you're off on a super fun scavenger hunt! We especially loved the coins we found at the bus stop at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and outside Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT.

Sarah, I hope you've found this information helpful as you count down the final few minutes before your arrival at The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any additional questions throughout your trip, you're always welcome to revisit us here at planDisney! We're all ears.

    See ya real soon,
