We have two people in our party of 12 that will be using ecvs during our trip. Can they both ride the bus at the same time, what about the boat from contemporary to wilderness lodge? Trying to plan ahead so we don't miss any reservation.

    Hi Bonnie,

The buses at WDW can accommodate two ECVs; however, if one is already being used, you may end up having to split your party.

The Motor Launches (small boats that provide transportation between the Magic Kingdom and several resorts) cannot accommodate ECVs.  There are larger boats (Motor Cruisers) that travel from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge.  These can accommodate ECVs as long as the water levels aren't too low.

Your resort hotel will also have a couple of wheelchairs available for guest use.  They usually only have a couple and are available on a first come, first serve basis.  For some of your trickier transportation routes, you may want to check and see if you could borrow wheelchairs.  They can be taken on the boats traveling from Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge, but they must be folded and stowed in the back - similar to a stroller.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
