Hi Melissa, and welcome to planDisney! I'm glad that you brought your questions to us.
Staying hydrated is very important so you can bring a case of water onboard in your carry-on bag only. Just know that you will be able to keep it with you until your stateroom is ready on your embarkation day, so I suggest placing it in a roller bag so that you can navigate the ship with ease. Disney Cruise Line's
alcohol policy states that Guests ages 21 years of age and older can bring a maximum of 2 sealed bottles of wine or champagne (no more than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no more than 12 ounces) onboard can be brought on board in carry-on bags. You do not need to choose between wine or beer and a case of water.
While in a Port of Call, I like to visit the stores to look for local spirits, like rum, to bring back home with me. You cannot take it back to your room, even if you do not have plans to open it. The alcohol policy also states that "liquors, spirits or excess wine and beer purchased in ports of call will be stored until the end of the cruise". The process of checking it is very easy! When I did this in Jamaica, I received a claim ticket when I returned to the ship and turned in my alcohol. On disembarkation morning, there was a table set up on the deck where we were to disembark. I provided my claim ticket to the crew member and signed upon receipt of my alcohol.
Melissa, if you decide you do not want to carry a case of water around, you can purchase water to be delivered to your stateroom on embarkation day through
Onboard Gifts. This is what my family and I usually do. There will also be opportunities to purchase multiple bottles of water after you board the ship. Crew members are usually walking around the pool deck or the buffet on embarkation day with the current offer.
If you have any other questions, sail back to
planDisney. We are happy to help!
Adventure is out there!
