I have two old Disneyland tickets that I need to exchange for admission to Disneyland. I would like to go on Tuesday, December 13. Will I have any troubles exchanging it at the gate. Thank you

Hi there, Lori! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question!

I want to jump right in here because I can see you are hoping to visit in just a few days, and it seems like it may have been a pixie-dusted minute since your last visit. There are a few updates that I want to make sure you are aware of before you pull up to those Main Entrance Gates. All Guests are now required to have a theme park ticket as well as a theme park reservation. The reservation holds your spot in a particular park on a particular day and also helps Mickey and Minnie to know how many people to expect each day. They are limited and subject to availability. While you may be able to go to the Main Entrance Ticket Booth to exchange your old tickets, you may find that there are no same-day reservations available. With the holidays in full swing, theme park reservations are full at the moment for several dates in December. You can always keep track by looking at the theme park reservation calendar, which updates with any changes Guests are making as they can cancel and reschedule reservations.

I know this is likely not the pixie-dusted news you were hoping for, but I'm hoping I can point you in the right direction to the magic. The first step would be to call the Ticket Guest Services team before your visit to discuss the options for your old tickets. Expired tickets still hold a little spark of magic, and the value can be applied to the purchase of a brand-new ticket. The Cast Members will be happy to help you! Once your new tickets are confirmed and linked to your account, then you can make your theme park reservations through the Disneyland website or the Disneyland Mobile App. On the website, head to the "Parks & Tickets" tab and select "Ticket and Reservation Details" from the dropdown menu. From here, you can tap "Make Park Reservations" and follow the prompts from there. As of today, it doesn't look like reservations are available for December 13th, but with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust ... and some diligent refreshing, it may open up depending on the changes other Guests are making!

I know, this is a lot to take in! I'm truly wishing upon a star that all will work out for you, and you'll be strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. in no time. If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach back out to us here at planDisney

    Never stop dreaming,
