I have a confession to make, Amanda: I always cringe when I hear someone say that they're considering skipping
any of the theme parks. Reason being, each one offers a unique and valuable experience. Here's another confession: during my family's first trip to Walt Disney World in 2001, we skipped Animal Kingdom. True story.
At the time, I thought that Animal Kingdom was a glorified zoo and I didn't want to waste our precious vacation time there. I've since come to discover that not only does Animal Kingdom boast one of Disney's best thrill rides (
Expedition Everest), so too does it feature an amazing show (
Finding Nemo - The Musical). Granted, neither of those were in existence when we first visited, but that's beside the point. ;) I will admit that we spend less time at Animal Kingdom than we do at the other parks. That said, it's most definitely worth a half day visit. I venture to guess you'll agree once you try it!
