I have two mature 10 year olds, we have only 4 days in the park, I have heard that animal kingdom is not the best use of time, should we bother going there and spend more time in the other 3 parks? My kids love the thrill rides and shows.

I have a confession to make, Amanda: I always cringe when I hear someone say that they're considering skipping any of the theme parks.  Reason being, each one offers a unique and valuable experience.  Here's another confession: during my family's first trip to Walt Disney World in 2001, we skipped Animal Kingdom.  True story.

At the time, I thought that Animal Kingdom was a glorified zoo and I didn't want to waste our precious vacation time there.  I've since come to discover that not only does Animal Kingdom boast one of Disney's best thrill rides (Expedition Everest), so too does it feature an amazing show (Finding Nemo - The Musical).  Granted, neither of those were in existence when we first visited, but that's beside the point. ;)  I will admit that we spend less time at Animal Kingdom than we do at the other parks.  That said, it's most definitely worth a half day visit.  I venture to guess you'll agree once you try it!
