I have two kids, 3 and 6, wondering if it makes sense to do a short trip to Disney, just three days when in FL already or wait til they are older and do a long trip they might be more apt to remember but could have grown out of the mickey, princess phase

    Hi Brian!

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

When you ask a "what's the best age?" question about a vacation to Walt Disney World, you're asking a great question. As a Dad who's taken his son to Walt Disney World for most all his 18 years, I'd say there's magic for Guests of every age.

When our son was the age of your youngest child, he loved meeting his favorite Disney characters, and there were lots of big hugs and even bigger smiles. He also simply couldn't get enough of Tomorrowland Speedway. Later, his visits were all about collecting autographs. Around age 6, he ventured to more attractions. I have a vivid memory of him riding The Magic Carpets of Aladdin so many times in a row I imagine he left the carpets threadbare. Later, he discovered pin trading, and loved collecting pins for the all the attractions he was adventurous enough to ride. After that, he discovered Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and wanted nothing but collecting cards, mastering spells, and seeking out Magic Portals. Later, Epcot became his favorite park and exploring the country pavilions at World Showcase consumed entire vacations. I could go on and on. Each Walt Disney World vacation brought new must-do experiences that changed with each age of our son.

So, yes, I say it absolutely does make sense to take a short trip. You and your kids can enjoy a lot of magic in 3 days. They'll remember it. More importantly, so will you.

Brian, I really believe there are magical moments for every age. What's more important, for me, is that I remember and cherish all those memories our son experienced at each age with each interest. For me, that's the magic that always stays with me.

    Enjoy your Disney!
