Ready to begin, LaShunda? It's almost time to let the wonder take hold! Welcome to planDisney where we are here to help you feel it draw you in so you can watch the moment unfold. Thanks for bringing your question to us about the needs of your children.
Walt Disney World is great about
accommodating a variety of special needs. I've linked some information for you, and there's even a special
neurodivergent section with helpful tips to prepare your family for your trip. There's also a
Sensory Experience guide available which provides sensory experience details for each attraction in every park. This will help you plan for which attractions are right for your kids and which ones you may want to avoid.
There's also a
list available of all the quieter spots in each park in case you need to take a break and rest away from the crowds. All parks have at least 6 of these areas, and EPCOT has the most with 14. You'll never be far away from one of these quieter spots.
I also want to let you know about the
Disability Access Service, more commonly known as DAS. Beginning 60 days in advance of your trip (which is now since your trip is so close), you can go online using the link above and request a live video chat with a Cast Member. They'll chat with you and your kids to learn more about your needs and will discuss recommended services. If it's determined your kids are eligible for DAS, you'll complete the registration with the Cast Member, which will be for the Guest with DAS and up to 3 additional members of your party. Then, when you visit the parks, you can request return times using the
My Disney Experience Mobile App for the eligible attractions your party wishes to experience. Keep in mind, only one return time can be held at a time, and the Guest with DAS will need to be present and experiencing each attraction for which a return time is requested.
LaShunda, I hope this has been helpful to you so that you and your kids can find your happily ever after during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. Please come visit us again with any other planning questions you have.
Grab hold of your dreams!
