Greetings Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney. I love that you're interested in becoming a Magic Key holder! As an Inspire Key holder, I can tell you firsthand how wonderful it is to visit the park, knowing there are more visits on the horizon. And with the
70th Anniversary Celebration underway, there is an extra level of excitement throughout the Resort.
Jennifer, you can use one Disney Gift Card per transaction when purchasing a
Magic Key online. As you mentioned, each Disney Gift Card has a limit of $1,000, which means you'd need to pay for the balance with a credit card. Check out the
Magic Key How to Guide for step-by-step instructions for purchasing a Magic Key.
The good news, Jennifer, is that most dining and merchandise locations accept Disney Gift Cards, so you can use your remaining gift card inside the parks each time you visit. And the even better news is that, as a Magic Key holder, you'll receive discounts at select locations.
There are plenty of other benefits of being a passholder, too. All Magic Keys come with the ability to park hop, meaning you'll have flexibility whenever you visit as it relates to what you do and see. The
Inspire Key and
Believe Key both offer unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads. I also really like that standard theme park parking is included with the Inspire Key.
Remember that
theme park reservations are required. With either the Inspire Key or Believe Key, you'll be able to hold up to six reservations at a time, which should come in handy since you'll be visiting from out of state. You can modify or cancel reservations up until 11:59 p.m. the day before. If you don't scan into the park when you have a reservation, you'll get a no-show. After three no-shows within 90 days, you will be unable to make new theme park reservations or modify existing ones for 30 days. I'm only writing this as a reminder to keep an inventory of your upcoming trips. It's easy to make new reservations or updates in the
Disneyland mobile app.
If you plan on visiting soon, make sure to soak up the fun for the
70th Anniversary Celebration. Paint the Night, Wondrous Journeys, and World of Color Happiness! are all amazing and worth seeing. Take photos with Mickey and his pals in their festive outfits, browse the merchandise collections, and try all the creative food and drink options. It's all so fun!
