We are two families of 4 and 7 members. If we link our accounts as friends, must only one person manage for the entire group, or can each mom manage the entire group when needed, and separately for their own families when needed

    Welcome back to planDisney, Sheena!

I'm so glad you stopped by with another question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.  Personally, I can't think of a better way to spend the Christmas holiday than with a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth –– you and your family must be getting so excited about your December visit!

And speaking of the holidays, while the decorations in the parks are absolutely stunning, if you have some extra time during your stay, I also recommend heading over to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to check out of life-sized gingerbread house in the Resort's Main Lobby.  Each year, a team of skilled bakers creates an entirely new display for the holiday season, and making a trip over to the Resort to check it out has become an absolute must for my family.  You can even purchase one of the gingerbread roof shingles (and usually a cup of hot chocolate) to enjoy, too. It's the perfect way to add an extra sprinkle of holiday pixie dust to your visit!

There's nothing I love more than visiting Walt Disney World Resort with a big group of family and friends, but I also know that it can be a challenge to keep everyone together as a big group for your entire trip.  That's why I'm happy to share while you'll be able to do things like book things like Genie+ Lightning Lanes and join the Virtual Queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for everyone on your My Disney Experience Friends & Family List, each family in your group will also be able to log into their account and plan separate activities if that works best for you.  While we weren't part of a large group, I used this same strategy while traveling with a friend earlier this summer. While I booked many of our Genie+ attractions together, she's not a big thrill seeker –– so, while I hopped into the Lightning Lane for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, she opted to book her own Lightning Lane access for Alien Swirling Saucers. For us, being able to split up and come together as needed made for a seamless and enjoyable trip, and I hope it does that same thing for your friends and family, too.

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Sheena.  I hope this helped to answer your question, but if you need more information or think of new planning questions as your Walt Disney World Resort visit gets closer, please don't hesitate to drop by again –– we're always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Amy
