Hiya Julie!
Welcome to planDisney! I love making joint plans with family especially when they let me make all the plans. I have control issues, I know, but I can't help being so excited to enjoy showing them around my favorite place in the world--
Walt Disney World Resort.
Now, when I make any joint reservations with my family I would have their My Disney Experience account linked to it by adding them as guests. We would of course have to be on each other's
Family & Friends lists and share plans. In addition, if they are 18 years and older and listed on the reservation they can view it on their account and they
can view the remaining balance and make a payment. Now, you mentioned MagicBands! If you are wondering if your family can use their standard MagicBands or the newer
MagicBand+ to make purchases with a different credit card from you then they absolutely can. When you arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, head to the front desk and have them set up your MagicBands to be linked to a card and set up a 4-digit PIN. Make sure you remember that PIN as every time you make a purchase at a dining or merchandise location you will need to enter it. Don't be like me who forgets every time I go and have to reset it. Each family member 18 and up can have a different card linked to their My Disney Experience Account.
I don't know if you know about this awesome new service at Walt Disney World but many merchandise locations now have
Merchandise Mobile Checkout. You use your
My Disney Experience Mobile App and scan your purchases and pay right on the app. I love using it to avoid the long lines and any discounts that you are eligible for such as those for
Disney Visa Cardmembers and
Annual Passholders are automatically applied. It's so dangerous to my bank account that my shopping is now even easier but it makes me so happy.
I hope this helps and you have a fabulous time with your family! Make sure to come back and let us know if you have any more questions!
Happy Planning!
