Greetings, and welcome to
planDisney! Staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel is a great way to make the most of your vacation, and to ensure that you're immersed in Disney magic all day, every day.
It's always great to add a few extra days to your vacation, and sometimes that means needing to make an additional reservation. I have quite a bit of experience with your exact situation!
When I find myself in this situation, I first contact
Disney Resort Reservations and explain my request. The Cast Member you'll speak with can view both of your reservations and discuss any options you may have. In my experience, they will usually add a note to both reservations which communicates to the Resort hotel that your reservations are linked. Then, when you check-in for your first reservation at the beginning of your trip, you can explain your request to a Cast Member at the front desk of your Resort hotel. It isn't always possible for them to keep you in the same Guest Room, but it never hurts to ask!
In my experience, when I've booked two consecutive reservations for the same Guest Room type at the same Resort hotel (e.g., both are Deluxe Studio - Preferred View Guest Rooms at
Disney's Riviera Resort), my family has been able to stay in the same Guest Room throughout our stay on some trips, and other times we've needed to move for our second reservation.
I definitely understand the convenience of staying in the same Guest Room across both of your reservations, but moving can also be a great experience! When we've needed to move Guest Rooms, we often love getting a different view and being closer to different amenities at our Resort hotel. For example, at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge your two Guest Rooms might have different views of the savannas, giving your family new opportunities to see different wildlife!
Have a magical stay!
