Happiest Greetings on Earth, Devin! I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney and thank you so much for your question.
You are not alone in this question, Devin. My husband and I both have
Magic Key Passes with differing expiration dates, simply because we activated our Passes on different dates. As you might already know, Magic Key Passes are eligible for
renewal up to 30 days prior to their expiration date. When you renew, your Magic Key Pass will automatically be activated on the day after the original expiration date and will be valid for one year.
However, I think I understand that what you are asking is to upgrade both Passes to an available Magic Key Pass at a higher level. In this case, upgrades from an existing Magic Key Pass to a new Pass type will need to be done in person, at the Main Entrance Ticket Booths. There, each Guest will need to present their photo ID and their original Magic Key Pass to request an upgrade to a Magic Key Pass that is currently offered for sale. You can find out more details about
upgrading to a new Magic Key Pass or review the
Magic Key Terms and Conditions, but I'll share some highlights that will be important to keep in mind.
- Magic Key Pass types are subject to availability and not all pass types may be available at any given time.
- Existing park reservations may not transfer to your new Magic Key Pass, so you may need to be prepared to secure future theme park reservations at the time of your upgrade.
- Check with the Cast Member at the ticket booth about the expiration date for your Pass. Since it sounds like one of you is in the renewal window and one is not, you may want to inquire with them about how the upgrade process will affect your Passes' respective expiration dates.
I hope this is a helpful start, Devin. More than anything, I wish you another wonderful year of memories as a Magic Key Holder! If we can help with anything else in the meantime, please come back and see us again, here at
planDisney!
Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
Tishra
