Hi Josh! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
If you're familiar with the dining plans at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort operates a little differently. The differences are part of the reason we end up visiting both parks. There's a different magic to be had in each location! So, while you can only experience the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park, dining plans are typically not offered at the Disneyland Resort. However, when you purchase your
admission tickets directly, you currently have the option to add a
Disney Dining Card, which acts like a discounted gift card. Everyone appreciates increased value, and it can be a useful budgeting tool.
Since it sounds like you didn't select a Disney Dining Card as an add-on when you originally got your tickets, you still have the option to purchase a
Disney Gift Card to help budget while you're in the parks. I typically request Disney Gift Cards for holidays, and we use them towards food and merchandise while visiting the parks. They currently have no expiration date, and your receipts at the park show the remaining balance, which is helpful when you want to keep track of spending. Additionally, you can sometimes find discounted Disney Gift Cards available from your favorite retailer, which increases the value!
Some add-ons can be selected after the purchase of your tickets, including
Lightning Lane Passes. This is a great option, which allows you to spend less time in queues and more time experiencing the parks. Depending on availability, you can add Lightning Lane Passes to your day after you've scanned into the park, using the
Disneyland mobile app. On a short two-day visit, we find Lightning Lane Passes to be a great option, maximizing how many Attractions we can experience. Plus, I use my handy Disney Gift Card to pay for my day-of Lightning Lane purchases!
I hope this helps.
