If I have a two day park hopper ticket, do I need to book two reservations or just one?

Welcome back to planDisney, Mona. Thanks for bringing us another question!

I’m glad to see you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. It’s been so long since the theme parks closed their gates due to the pandemic; like many people, I’m delighted that California residents will be able to enjoy Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park next week!

Mona, each day you visit the theme parks, you’ll need both a valid ticket as well as a park reservation for that particular day. So if you have a multi-day ticket, you’ll need a park reservation for subsequent visit(s) also. You can easily obtain additional park reservations using the same process as your initial booking. Simply refer to the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to ensure the park you wish to visit has not reached capacity. Then log in to your Disney account on or Disneyland mobile app. Create your travel party, select the new date and park you wish to visit, then confirm once you’ve reviewed your selections. You’ll be on your merry way to the parks on second day.

Park hopping across The Esplanade is convenient to do as well! You’ll start your day at one park, then after 1 PM, you’ll be able to explore the other park with your park hopper ticket. You do not need a separate reservation when park hopping after 1 PM on the same day.

As you continue planning your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, please don’t hesitate to visit us again for more tips and advice. We’re all EARS.

    Wising you a magical day,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
