have two children 6, 9 going to disney in may have never been before. Is it be better to stay at the all star music or the port orleans french quarters? Is the fridge included at Port Orleans, and are you able to sit on the balconies at Port orleans

Which resort is better for your family will depend on several factors. Most importantly, your budget. If cost is the most important consideration, then stick with the All-Star resort.

The value resorts have exterior corridors and smaller rooms but offer large food courts and huge savings! Value resorts have pools but there are no pool slides which is sometimes a big draw for kids. There are no refrigerators in the rooms at the All-Star resorts, however you can rent one if needed.

If your budget will allow for a moderate resort, Port Orleans French Quarter is an excellent choice. It's a small resort that exudes charm. There is a nicely themed pool with a slide, however I would note that the slide down a serpent's tongue is geared for young kids. Your six-year old may find it fun, your 9 year old may think it's lame. That's just from my own personal experience!

Rooms at POFQ are undergoing renovations. Most buildings have been completed and you'll enjoy all new furnishings, linens, flat screen TVs, etc. The transportation via the Sassagoula riverboat to Downtown Disney is a bonus!

While the rooms are larger, moderate resorts like Port Orleans French Quarter have exterior corridors. There are no balconies. To sit outside the room, you would need to take your room chairs outdoors and this can block other guests walking by with luggage, etc. since the corridor outside your room is essentially a hallway for all resort guests.

    Have a great vacation!
