    Hi! My two best friends and I are taking a vacation to WDW in October! We are staying at the AKL and have the Disney Dining plan. Can you recommend any restaurants or special activities that would add some grown-up Disney Magic to our girls trip? :)

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for an excellent question. 

    My husband and I took several adults-only trips before we had our son and our favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel during those trips was hands down Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I just love its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, its excellent spa, the artwork that surrounds you and being able to sip on a tasty drink while watching the animals roam on the savanna.

    I love all of the restaurants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, but if you’re looking to have a memorable meal with your besties, I would recommend making a reservation at Jiko - The Cooking Place. I don’t know what I love more: the food or the restaurant’s amazing wine list, with some absolute gems from South African wineries! Please note that, if you do choose to dine there, you’ll have to use 2 of your Disney Dining Plan Table Service entitlements. 

    If you don’t want to ‘splurge” on a 2-credit meal, another delicious alternative close to your Resort Hotel would be Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas - Kidani Village. It’s a restaurant with a really fun (and somewhat exotic) menu, and you can request a table with a great view of the savanna while you dine.
