Hi Bryan,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question about
travelling with an infant aboard Disney Cruise Line!
My son was 13 months old when he first sailed with Mickey and his pals, so I know a thing or two about cruising with a little one. First, you can absolutely bring baby food and formula onboard in your carry-on luggage! Please make sure that it’s pre-packaged and unopened and that you won’t need kitchen facilities to prepare any of it. I remember bringing several bottles of shelf-stable, pre-mixed formula with absolutely no issues.
As for the carry-on luggage itself, based on my experience, if you’d like to bring two backpacks (one as your carry-on bag and one as a personal bag), that’s fine, just please make sure that you can carry them both around the ship while you’re waiting for your room to be ready. Typically, staterooms are ready after 1:30 PM, so you won’t want to lug too much around with you as you start to explore the ship and have lunch.
Finally, don’t forget that you can reserve items such as a crib, a diaper disposal unit, bottle warmer and even a bottle sterilizer from your stateroom host. You can even purchase essential baby supplies at the onboard merchandise shop (including formula!), although these items will cost you more than they would on land. Please make any requests you may have by signing into
My Reservations, and filling out the Special Requests form.
As always, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
