Two adults, and we want to stay on property. We want to spend a day at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Do we make the park reservations first, then figure out the rooms, or vice versa?

    Hi Wendy,

Thank you for reaching out to us here at planDisney with your question, we are happy you stopped by!  It sounds like you have a great day planned at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is out of this world!

In order to make your Theme Park Reservations for Disney's Hollywood Studios, you will need to purchase Theme Park Tickets first.  Since you are wanting to stay at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, it makes sense to book a Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package that includes both a Resort stay and Theme Park Tickets.  This way, you will pay a deposit to secure your reservation and then you will be able to make Theme Park Reservations right after so with this choice, you are effectively selecting your resort and making Theme Park Reservations at the same time, instead of purchasing both separately.  With a vacation package you will also have some Magical Extras that will make your stay even more magical!

Since you are planning on visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios, I recommend choosing a Resort that is close to the Theme Park, to lessen travel time between your resort and the Theme Park.  For a splurge, I recommend Disney's Yacht Club Resort.  My family and I love the amenities available at this resort. It is within walking distance to Disney's Hollywood Studios and I find that it is relatively quiet with a very laid back atmosphere.  My other recommendations would be Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort or Disney's Pop Century Resort as they both have access to the Disney Skyliner, which will whisk you away to Disney's Hollywood Studios in no time!

On the day you visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge don't forget to use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to gain access to the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  Boarding Passes are very popular, so be sure to have the App ready to go as soon as the time is right!

I hope you have a fantastic time at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Wendy.  If you have any other questions, please come back to planDisney, we are always happy to help.
