Hi there, Sarah,
"
Oh, bother." Dealing with an injury can be a challenge. I hope the experience didn’t upset the festivities of your birthday too badly. And I hope you feel well quickly so you can enjoy another magical visit to The Happiest Place on Earth!
Guests who wish to
rent a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) may do so at the facility that is located immediately outside the main entrance to Disneyland Park. As you are facing the turnstiles and the
Disneyland Railroad Main Street, U.S.A. station from outside the park, the rental location is on your right-hand side. While
reservations are required for entry to the theme parks, there is no need to make a reservation for wheelchair or ECV rentals. However, the number of wheelchairs and ECVs is limited, so it is advisable to arrive early.
Wheelchair and ECV rentals at the theme parks are for use in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. If you wish to use a wheelchair or ECV outside these areas, you may bring your own wheelchair or ECV or rent one from an outside provider, including the
Disney Featured Provider ScooterBug. Some
Disneyland Resort Hotels may also have a limited number of wheelchairs to rent. And I have seen some
Good Neighbor Hotels partner with other ECV rental providers as well.
Tony’s Tip: You may wish to review the accommodations for
Guests with disabilities. Specifically, I recommend becoming familiar with
accommodations for mobility disabilities at different attractions. Some attractions, such as
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and
Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough even offer alternate experiences that are completely wheelchair accessible.
I hope you have a wonderful time at
Walt Disney's Original Magic Kingdom, Sarah. And may your nephew have an exceptional
birthday at the Disneyland Resort. If he’s like me, I’m sure he’ll especially enjoy the
newly-reimagined Mickey’s Toontown.
See ya real soon!
~Tony
