My twin daugters, (2,2) and I are going on our first Disney cruise, the Western Caribbean in June. What shore excursions will they be allowed on and what would be the most fun for them to do in port?

Congratulations on your upcoming first cruise with Disney!

The Western Caribbean cruise takes you to Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay.

    Key West:
Conch Republic Tour, Old Town Trolley, Glassbottom Boat, Pirate Soul, Key West Butterfly, Pirate Scavenger Hunt.

I would recommend the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory with Aquarium. Young kids can explore rather than have to sit through a narrated tour.

    Grand Cayman:
Island Tour, Nautilus Undersea Tour, Seaworld Explorer, Rum Point Beach, Seven Mile Beach, Boatswain’s Adventure Marine Park, Dolphin Observer and Turtle Farm, Island Tour and Butterfly Farm.

I have been to the Turtle Farm but the Island Tour may be less than exciting for young kids. Time at the beach is usually a great choice for young explorers. For more fun, consider Boatswain’s!

    Cozumel:
Luxury Yacht Charter, Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour, Ocean View Explorer Tour, Cozumel Highlights, Cozumel Beach, Dolphin Discovery Observer, Dolphin Observer at Dolphinaris and Xcaret.

Some excursions such as Xcaret, I would rule out just because of the length of the tour. My favorite tour is the Tulum Ruins but that will have to be when your twins are a bit older. While they could go on the Cozumel Ruins tour, strollers are not allowed.

Here, I would suggest enjoying the beach. Also, please check with DCL to see if this port of call will be skipped due to the flu advisory.

Castaway Cay involves a day in paradise. Enjoy the beach, buffet lunch, take a bicycle ride (child seats available) and have pictures with some beach-attired Disney characters.
