Cowabunga, Rebecca!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I want to thank you for surfing on over and bringing us your excellent question.
I hope your tween-ager is ready to hang ten at
Graig Carrol's Surf School at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon! Because he'll absolutely be able to wear a life jacket during this tubular experience if it makes him (and mama) more comfortable, guest safety is always a priority. I was also able to confirm that there are life jackets available on-site for your surfer to use, or you may bring your own. Another great feature, they can adjust the wave height and strength, so if he's not comfortable with the bigger waves, he can stay with the beginner level waves.
This experience also allows spectators to accompany surf school guests, so you'll be able to watch the action while he's catching the waves. For even more splash-tacular information, just select the highlighted link above.
Guests must also provide their own transportation to this early-morning of sun, sand, and surf, so don't forget about Walt Disney World's newest mode of transportation from select resort hotels,
Minnie Van Service.
I hope this is helpful, Rebecca! Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. I am here to help you navigate the waters of planning a righteous Walt Disney World® Resort vacation.
