Hi Shane!
The lunch and dinner buffet at Tusker House does feature African-inspired choices, but many are (in my opinion) more of a "fusion" between America-style favorites and ethnic food. My husband and I thought the buffet was a good family choice. The children's buffet has many kiddie standards, including (at the time we visited) macaroni and cheese, pb&j sandwiches and corn dogs. I was also able to ask for a plain bowl of pasta for my youngest son. You can check out the menu for Tusker House at the independent website
www.allears.net , select "Dining" from the main menu and search for Tusker House.
One of our favorites when we visit Animal Kingdom is the Rainforest Cafe. This is an independently owned restaurant, and is, therefore, not on the meal plan, but is always on our "must visit" list. You dine inside an elaborately-themed "jungle" where the animals make noise and the weather even changes while you dine. My kids love it! You can check out their menu at
www.rainforestcafe.com .
Have a wonderful day at Animal Kingdom!
