I am turning 60 and what better place to celebrate but Disney! Planning a visit in October to see what Disney does for Halloween! My daughter and 3 year old grand daughter will be with me. IDEA'S?? Which character breakfast?

Hi Margaret! I completely agree with your choice of location to spend your 60th fabulous birthday. I chose it as well two years ago and have many fond memories and continue to celebrate each birthday there when I can.

Multi generation trips are the best as you see the parks in so many different ways. One of the great fall events is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party held several nights each week starting in September and ending at Halloween. It doesn't matter which night you choose as they are all fun and kids can come in costume and trick or treat throughout the Magic Kingdom. There will be dance parties and decorations and the best part of the night will be the Halloween parade. It is my favorite Disney parade of all and I have seen many! The dates are usually announced around April or May and suggest you get your tickets as soon as you have made your plans. Most parties will sell out. The party begins at 7pm and runs until midnight but you are allowed to enter from 4pm on. I suggest you also make a dining reservation as soon as your 180 day window opens. These too go very quickly.

Fort Wilderness is also a wonderful spot for Halloween fun. The campers there come with great decorations and the sites are either simple and cute to unbelievably professional. Weekends are the best time to visit this area in October. On Halloween or the day before Fort Wilderness decks out in grand style. There is a golf cart parade, dog pet costume parade, site decorating contests, and trick or treating. Your resort concierge can fill you in on the exact schedule the closer it gets as nothing is usually published until much closer to the fall months.

My favorite character breakfast is still Chef Mickey in the Contemporary Resort. This is where you will find the traditional fabulous five characters that most children know and love. There can be last minute changes but you will usually see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy and they will stop for photos and autographs so come prepared!
