How do I turn on my legacy lightsaber

Hey there, Debbie, or should I say Bright Suns?! Either way, welcome to planDisney. We are so glad you've stopped by.

It's never fun when you make an exciting purchase and you can't use it! I have yet to add any lightsabers to my Disney merchandise hauls, but I did a little research. To turn on a legacy lightsaber try searching for a button or prominent mechanism on the hilt. This is called the activation stud. Each lightsaber is different so it could be an actual button, but also could be a dial, slide switch, or lever that you would need to move to activate the energy blade. Also, most legacy lightsabers produce a specific noise when activated. If you've tried to look for these and still are not able to activate the force, then I would suggest reaching out to Merchandise Services to see if they may have a more helpful walk-through for you.

Hopefully, you are planning on another visit to Disneyland for Season of the Force. I know so many Guests are excited for this to return to Disneyland Resort this year, along with Star Wars Nite. Tickets recently became available for this and by some miracle, they still have tickets available if you were thinking about attending!

Debbie, I hope this information helps. Please come back and visit us again with any of your planning questions!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
