Is TTC monorail open at Poly for EMH am/pm? Thank you all for your expert advice!

Hi Edward, I know that this has caused some concern from guests visiting WDW and I totally understand these concerns as a guest. I have researched all the pros and cons to this new announcement and I do feel more comfortable after reviewing the transportation offerings after the monorail system has closed for the evening. The monorail will not operate during Extra Magic Hours (it will operate one hour past regular Park closing time for both the Magic Kingdom monorail and Epcot monorail). Extra busses will be made available to guests staying in resorts that are not on the monorail line and for guests staying at the Polynesian, Contemporary and the Grand Floridian Resorts, they will have the boat transportation available. The Ferry will also be running from MK so guests can get back to the parking lot if they drove themselves there. I agree that it is a nuisance, but once you figure out your other transportation options, it doesn't seem like it's "the end of the world". Lol These changes will not affect morning operating hours for the Monorail. The Magic Kingdom Resort Monorail service starts at 7 a.m., while the Magic Kingdom Express Monorail service starts 30 minutes prior to Magic Kingdom opening time. The Epcot Monorail service begins one hour before Epcot opening time. While this change in Monorail service is in effect, watercraft (where applicable) and additional buses will be available to transport guests. The following is the official word from WDW: "From time to time, we make adjustments to our operations to accommodate for planned transportation maintenance. With that in mind, operating hours for the Epcot Monorail system will be modified to operate one hour after regular park close beginning July 11, 2011 and the Magic Kingdom Monorail system will also operate one hour after regular park close beginning August 1, 2011. At that time, watercraft (where applicable) and additional buses will be available to transport guests to their destination." Best wishes, Brigitta
