Hello! We are trying to make it to DL for our family vacation! We would be staying on property for 3 nights, with 4 day park hopper tickets in June. My question is, what happens if the park hits capacity? Could we leave for the afternoon and return?!

Oh boy! Melissa, you and your family are going to have a swell time at the Disneyland Resort!

This sure is a historic time to visit the Happiest Place on Earth. With the upcoming return of the Disneyland Forever nighttime spectacular, the recently re-imagined Pixar Pier, and, of course, the highly-anticipated opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, this is shaping up to be an absolutely unforgettable time in the history of the Disneyland Resort!

My family has found that the very best time to visit the parks at Disneyland Resort is first thing in the morning, right as the parks open. Of course, we want to experience Fantasmic!, Disneyland Forever, or World of Color in the evening. But that can make for a long day. So a brief nap or relaxing swim in the pool back at our Disneyland Resort Hotel is often just what we need to recharge and be ready to enjoy the parks later in the day. It seems you have a good plan going into your upcoming vacation!

Technically, Disneyland Resort terms and conditions indicate that tickets do not guarantee admission to the parks. But rest assured that there are only rare circumstances that would keep you from experiencing more of the magic. Initial levels of park entrance restrictions usually allow guests who have already entered a given park on the same day the ability to re-enter. Also, although this Summer season is expected to be a very popular time to visit Disneyland Park, I feel confident that the magical Cast Members are doing a marvelous job at preparing for the increase in interest in new park experiences. For example, the “Know Before You Go” series shared by Michael Ramirez of the Disney Parks Blog helps set proper expectations among the many Disney Parks and Star Wars fans about how and when to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Because guests must have one of a limited number of reservations in order to enter the land, I would expect overall attendance levels to be manageable at the Disneyland Resort overall this June. This is going to be epic!

I hope you have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time, Melissa!
