I am trying to upload my passport and security picture to the Online Check in and it is not accepting it. Can you explain how to do that. Thanks

Ahoy there, Barbara! Thanks for sailing my way with your question here at planDisney! I'm sorry you're running into a patch of rough seas, but rest assured, it's not my first time in these waters! We have our heading for smoother sailing, so here we go!

Completing your Online Check-In is such an exciting moment when planning your Disney Cruise Line vacation! That may sound odd since it's basically paperwork, but that means you have fewer than 30 days until your sailing - ahhhhh! The only better countdown is the one that says it's ZERO days until embarkation, right?

Uploading your travel documentation and photo is probably the trickiest step in the process because it's absolutely essential that the photos you upload have no glare or shadows on them! Easier said than done when it comes to those shiny pages of a passport!

I prefer doing check-in on my phone using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, so I can try again and again if I keep getting rejected. I've found that holding the passport open to the page with my photo on it and pressing on the sides with the very tips of my fingers while someone else takes the photo is the best way to get a glare-free one!

Oh, and after uploading the image of your travel documentation, be sure you're filling out the required information below exactly as it appears in your documents!

The same applies to the security photo - no shadows or glare, and while you're at it, be sure to remove any glasses you may typically wear - I have a suspicion that was why one of my photos was originally rejected, too! A selfie is fine, just be sure to include everything from your shoulders up!

If you continue to run into issues where the system will not accept your images, the help text on the Online Check-In page does mention that you are allowed to save your progress and continue checking in without these images, but you will have to make an extra stop at the terminal to fix the issues on embarkation day, and nobody wants anything standing between them and lunch...I mean the ship, haha!

I hope that helps you set a new course and that you and your crew are headed for fair winds and following seas! Thank you so much for your question, Barbara, and if you come up with any others between now and embarkation day, please drop us a line here at planDisney!

    Bon Voyage!
