    Raquel from CA Asked

Hi there. I am trying to upgrade my valid existing ticket, to the new magic key. I thought you would be able to do this in the app, but I can't find it. Am I missing it somewhere? Or does anyone know how to upgrade tickets to a magic key?

Hi there Raquel, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question, and I'd be happy to help you today.

From faraway planets to superhero headquarters, there's so much to explore in the Disneyland Resort theme parks, and you're sure to want to visit again and again throughout the year. Fortunately, you can apply the paid value of your unexpired, existing ticket towards the purchase price of a Magic Key pass. Keep in mind that if your ticket has expired, or if it's a promotional ticket, like the 3-day Southern California resident special, you will not be able to upgrade it to a Magic Key

If your ticket is eligible to upgrade, follow these simple steps via the Disneyland app. First, visit the "Tickets & Passes" screen and find the ticket you would like to upgrade. Then, click on the button that says "Upgrade to a Magic Key Pass," and follow the prompts to unlock the magic! After choosing your pass, entering a payment method, and confirming your personal information, you'll be on your way. If you have any existing theme park reservations linked to your ticket, they will be canceled upon upgrading, so don't forget to make new reservations once your Magic Key is set up.

I hope this is helpful, Raquel. If you run into any problems, give the friendly Cast Members at Disneyland ticketing a call at (714) 781-4636. Thanks again for sending your question our way, and best wishes for an unforgettable yEAR as a Magic Key holder!
