I am trying to understand the photo pass plan on a cruise ship. My husband and I will be in one room and our son, daughter in law and 2 boys will be in another room. We are looking at a 5 night cruise on the Fantasy. If I buy a pass Can they be in my pic

    Ahoy, Deborah!

Welcome aboard planDisney! The Fantasy is an amazing ship—it truly lives up to its name with enchanting details around every corner. A 5-night sailing is a perfect choice, long enough to let your crew settle in and create those “once upon a time” memories without feeling like the clock is about to strike midnight too soon!

Now, let’s shine a spotlight on the Unlimited Digital Photo Package so your family can capture every magical moment. In most cases, the package is tied only to the stateroom that purchases it. But—like Genie reminding us that there are always a few provisos—there’s one big exception: if parents are booked in one stateroom and their children under the age of 21 are in another, those children are included in the package. Anyone else in that second stateroom (like grandparents, aunts, or uncles) would not be covered.

Here’s a quick example to help visualize: let’s say the stateroom that buys the package has your son, daughter-in-law, and one grandson, and the other stateroom has you, your husband, and your other grandson. In that case, the photo package would cover everyone in your son’s stateroom plus the grandson in your stateroom, but not you or your husband.

That said, if you purchase the package, there’s still a way to get everyone in on the fun! If your son’s family jumps into a photo with you or your husband, that photo will appear in your package for download. To help ensure the photos show up on both stateroom accounts, I recommend having someone from each stateroom scan their Key to the World card or DisneyBand+ when checking in with the photographer. That way, you’re covering all your bases like Baymax looking out for his team. Keep in mind, if they take pictures without you, those would need to be purchased separately.

Here’s the great news: if your son and his family know they’ll want lots of their own photos, they can purchase their own package at a discounted rate (discounted rate does not apply to friends)—currently 50% off the onboard price when purchased as an additional stateroom package. Once you board, a quick stop at Shutters will let the Cast Members apply the discount and answer any other photo-related questions.

No matter what option you choose, I can promise this: you’ll leave the ship with a treasure trove of memories, from character hugs in the Grand Hall to windswept smiles on Castaway Cay. My crew has done the photo package a few times, and we still flip through those albums like they’re magic mirrors showing us our happiest moments.

I hope this helps give you a clearer picture of how the photo package works and what options might be best for your crew. No matter which route you take, you’ll walk away with magical memories captured forever!

Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
